Unarmed Basic Training (PERC) Course

Welcome to our training course, designed to meet and exceed the requirements set forth by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) under statute 230 ILCS 25-20. This course is essential for all registered employees of private security contractor agencies who provide traditional guarding services or respond to alarm systems. Within the first 30 days of employment, participants will complete a minimum of 20 hours of foundational training delivered by qualified instructors through classroom sessions, seminars, or online programs. Our comprehensive curriculum covers critical topics, including the law regarding arrest, search and seizure as it applies to private security, civil and criminal liability, the use of force, verbal communication skills, relevant offenses under the Criminal Code of 2012, the role of private security officers within the criminal justice system, fire safety, report writing, observation techniques, customer service, civil rights, public relations, and counter-terrorism awareness.
